A little catch-up from me

It’s been a busy few weeks, and somewhere between running sessions, answering messages and being mum, I’ve been thinking about what’s next for LSoC.

I have loads of ideas, as always 😂 but I want to make sure that as things grow, we keep what makes our sessions feel welcoming. Being able to come on your own, have a chat and try something without feeling like you need to be any good at it.

I know walking into a room where you don’t know anyone can be a big thing. I want people to feel comfortable doing that with us.

Recently, I’ve also been working with Healthwatch and The Brick on research around homelessness and accessing healthcare, using creativity to help people share their experiences. I’m grateful to everyone who has spoken with me. There’s a lot to listen to and learn from, and it matters that those experiences are heard properly.

I also had the opportunity to be on the stakeholder interview panel for Wigan’s Creative Health Lead. I felt really privileged to be involved. It’s good to know that small grassroots organisations like LSoC are being included in conversations about what happens next in our borough.

Behind the scenes, I’m bringing more facilitators on board, chatting about possible collaborations and looking at different things for us to try. There’s a lot of organising involved, and I’m still figuring some of it out as I go!

Having more support will hopefully give me a bit more breathing space to develop ideas and keep building on what we’ve started.

I’m excited to see where it goes. But I still want people to leave our sessions feeling they’ve had a lovely couple of hours, made something they’re pleased with and maybe met someone they’ll look forward to seeing again.

Thank you for being part of it and for continuing to support LSoC. It means a lot 💕
